Life isn’t always smooth sailing, is it?
There are seasons when the weight of everything just seems too much to bear. I’ve been there — those moments when all you can do is cry out to God, asking for the strength to take just one more step.
During those times, the Bible has been my anchor. God’s Word has this incredible way of speaking directly to the heart, offering comfort, hope, and the strength to press on when nothing else can.
If you’re walking through a tough season right now, I want to share some of my go-to Bible verses for strength.
These are verses I’ve meditated on when I needed to feel God’s presence and power the most. My prayer is that they’ll encourage you as much as they’ve encouraged me.
1. Philippians 4:13 – “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
This verse has been like a battle cry for me. It’s that reminder that, no matter how impossible things seem, I’m not relying on my own strength. Christ is the one who gives me the ability to keep going, even when I feel like I can’t.

2. Isaiah 41:10 – “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Whenever fear wants to creep in, this verse reminds me that I’m not alone. God Himself promises to help and uphold me. It’s like having the Creator of the universe whispering, “I’ve got you.”
3. Psalm 46:1 – “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
There’s something so comforting about knowing that God isn’t just strong — He’s present. He’s right there with us in the middle of our chaos, offering His peace and support.

4. Deuteronomy 31:6 – “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”
When life feels overwhelming, it’s easy to shrink back in fear. But this verse pushes me to step forward with courage, knowing that God is right there by my side.
5. 2 Corinthians 12:9 – “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
This one always stops me in my tracks. It’s a reminder that my weakness isn’t a limitation — it’s an opportunity for God to show His strength. And His grace? It’s always enough.
6. Joshua 1:9 – “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

I love the confidence this verse brings. It’s a command to trust God fully and to walk boldly, knowing He’s never going to leave us.
7. Psalm 18:2 – “The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”
When everything feels shaky, this verse reminds me that God is unmovable. He’s our steady foundation, our place of safety.
8. Romans 8:31 – “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”

Whenever I feel like life is stacking up against me, this verse shifts my perspective. If God is in my corner, what do I really have to fear?
9. Nehemiah 8:10 – “The joy of the Lord is your strength.”
It’s such a simple yet profound truth. God’s joy is the source of my strength. Even in difficult times, He fills me with a joy that sustains me.

10. Isaiah 40:31 – “But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”
Whenever I feel like I don’t have the energy to keep going, this verse reminds me to pause and lean on God. His strength never runs out, and He renews us when we wait on Him.
Leaning on God’s Word
If you’re feeling weary today, I just want to encourage you to lean into God’s Word. These verses have carried me through some of my hardest moments, and I truly believe they can carry you, too. Strength isn’t about never struggling — it’s about knowing Who to turn to when you do. God is always there, ready to uphold you with His righteous hand. Keep clinging to Him, and know that He’ll give you the strength you need for whatever you’re facing.
