Billy Graham quotes

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7

On February 21, 2018, the church lost a great man of faith. Billy Graham was such an inspiration to me. He was a man of character when it came to leading a ministry and being a faithful husband and father. He was anointed and gifted as an evangelist.

Because of his ministry, thousands upon thousands will join him one day to live eternity with their Savior. I hope and pray God will raise up a generation of Billy Grahams to usher in the greatest harvest of our times.

To honor his going home to Jesus…I wanted to share some Billy Graham quotes with you all and a video at the end. I hope they encourage you in your walk with God.

The greatest legacy one can pass on to one’s children and grandchildren are not money or other material things accumulated in one’s life, but rather a legacy of character and faith. – Billy Graham

When God gets ready to shake America, He may not take the Ph.D. and the D.D. God may choose a country boy … God may choose the man that no one knows, a little nobody, to shake America for Jesus Christ in this day, and I pray that He would. – Billy Graham

Mountaintops are for views and inspiration, but fruit is grown in the valleys. – Billy Graham

Prayer is spiritual communication between man and God, a two-way relationship in which man should not only talk to God but also listen to Him. Prayer to God is like a child’s conversation with his father. It is natural for a child to ask his father for the things he needs. – Billy Graham

The happiness which brings enduring worth to life is not the superficial happiness that is dependent on circumstances. It is the happiness and contentment that fills the soul even in the midst of the most distressing circumstances and the most bitter environment. It is the kind of happiness that grins when things go wrong and smiles through the tears. The happiness for which our soul’s ache is one undisturbed by success or failure, one which will deeply root inside us and give us inward relaxation, peace, and contentment, no matter what the surface problems may be. That kind of happiness stands in need of no outward stimulus.” – Billy Graham

When wealth is lost, nothing is lost; when health is lost, something is lost; when character is lost, all is lost. – Billy Graham

Sin is the second most powerful force in the universe, for it sent Jesus to the cross. Only one force is greater—the love of God – Billy Graham

Our society strives to avoid any possibility of offending anyone – except God. – Billy Graham

Someone asked me recently if I didn’t think God was unfair, allowing me to have Parkinson’s and other medical problems when I have tried to serve him faithfully. I replied that I did not see it that way at all. Suffering is part of the human condition, and it comes to us all. The key is how we react to it, either turning away from God in anger and bitterness or growing closer to him in trust and confidence. – Billy Graham

The moment we take our last breath on earth, we take our first in heaven. -Billy Graham
