In this article, we will explore spring Bible verses. All scriptures below speak about the spring season or allude to springtime. A great way to study this topic in the Word of God.
Everyone has their favorite season and hands down mine is spring! The flowers are blooming, the birds are singing, and everything is growing and coming to life. It is truly a beautiful season.
The Word doesn’t shy away from springtime Bible verses. It’s loaded with passages that convey the beauty of this season, but it’s also rich in symbolism.
We see many references that include the spring rain and how that is connected with God pouring out His spirit on the Earth. And how spring conveys new growth and life in a believer’s life.

Spring Bible Verses
Before we get started I want to share that all the verses below are from the New International Version (NIV). If you hover over the reference you can read the Amplified version of the scripture.
If you would like to check out other versions I highly recommend Biblegateway.com
FYI – some portions of scripture are large. I encourage you to still read through them as you will understand better what the passage is saying.
Proverbs 16:15 NIV – 15 When a king’s face brightens, it means life; his favor is like a rain cloud in spring.
Zechariah 10:1 NIV – 1 Ask the LORD for rain in the springtime; it is the LORD who sends the thunderstorms. He gives showers of rain to all people, and plants of the field to everyone.
Song of Songs 2:11-13 NIV – 11 See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. 12 Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land. 13 The fig tree forms its early fruit; the blossoming vines spread their fragrance. Arise, come, my darling; my beautiful one, come with me.”
Isaiah 44:4 NIV – 4 They will spring up like grass in a meadow, like poplar trees by flowing streams.
Matthew 6:28-29 NIV – 28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.
Isaiah 43:19 NIV – 19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
Psalm 1:3 NIV – 3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither–whatever they do prospers.
Isaiah 55:11-13 NIV – 11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. 12 You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. 13 Instead of the thornbush will grow the juniper, and instead of briers the myrtle will grow. This will be for the LORD’s renown, for an everlasting sign, that will endure forever.”
Deuteronomy 32:2 NIV – 2 Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants.
James 5:7 NIV – 7 Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains.
Isaiah 61:11 NIV – 11 For as the soil makes the sprout come up and a garden causes seeds to grow, so the Sovereign LORD will make righteousness and praise spring up before all nations.
Hosea 6:3 NIV – 3 Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.”
Deuteronomy 11:13-14 NIV – 13 So if you faithfully obey the commands I am giving you today–to love the LORD your God and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul– 14 then I will send rain on your land in its season, both autumn and spring rains, so that you may gather in your grain, new wine and olive oil.
Isaiah 35:1-10 NIV – 1 The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom. Like the crocus, 2 it will burst into bloom; it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the splendor of Carmel and Sharon; they will see the glory of the LORD, the splendor of our God. 3 Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; 4 say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.” 5 Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped. 6 Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy. Water will gush forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert.
7 The burning sand will become a pool, the thirsty ground bubbling springs. In the haunts where jackals once lay, grass and reeds and papyrus will grow. 8 And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness; it will be for those who walk on that Way. The unclean will not journey on it; wicked fools will not go about on it. 9 No lion will be there, nor any ravenous beast; they will not be found there. But only the redeemed will walk there, 10 and those the LORD has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.
Job 29:23 NIV – 23 They waited for me as for showers and drank in my words as the spring rain.
Joel 2:22-23 NIV – 22 Do not be afraid, you wild animals, for the pastures in the wilderness are becoming green. The trees are bearing their fruit; the fig tree and the vine yield their riches. 23 Be glad, people of Zion, rejoice in the LORD your God, for he has given you the autumn rains because he is faithful. He sends you abundant showers, both autumn and spring rains, as before.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 NIV – 1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: 2 a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, 3 a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, 4 a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, 5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, 6 a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, 7 a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, 8 a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.
