If we look into scripture, we see that joy is a unique emotion. It’s deeper than happiness and the Bible says that the joy of the Lord is our strength. It’s also known as one of the attributes of the Fruit of the Spirit.
For me this tell me that joy goes beyond a human emotion and is spiritual. It’s a like a wellspring that bubbles up from within. As Christians, we can experience this joy by walking in the Spirit and remaining in Christ.
And one way we can do this is by petitioning the Lord in prayer. Even just being in His presence and worshipping can bring incredible joy in your life.
So, today we are going to go through some prayers for joy. But before we dig into those. Here are some tips and prayer points I recommend.
Before We Start Praying for Joy { Prayer Points for Joy}
Written prayers are a wonderful way to get your motor running and start praying. The thing is that you don’t want it be your total prayer life. Prayer needs to be personal and heartfelt. He desires greatly to hear from YOU!
And if we were to be real, written prayers from someone else can fall short because it’s coming from someone else’s heart. To remedy this problem I encourage you to takes these prayers and make them your own.
You can do this by sharing adding names, or praying for a specific situation. Let these joy prayers be diving board that leads you into deeper communion with the Lord.

Prayer Points for Joy
Joy is a Fruit of the Spirit-
Pray for a lifestyle that walks with the Holy Spirit so you can produce good fruit. (Galatians 5)
Joy is a Strength- If you are feeling weak, discouraged, or beat up. This is when you need to be praying for joy.
When Facing Trails- In James 1:2-3, it says to consider it pure joy when facing trails and tests. If you know you are facing a test of some kind. Then press into the Lord and ask Him to give you pure joy during this season.
He is Among Us- Isaiah 12:6 states, “Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel among you.”
Righteous Through Christ – Psalm 118:15 says, “Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous: “The LORD’s right hand has done mighty things!” Pray for the Lord to stir your heart that you are righteous through Christ and that you have and will continue to experience His joy and victory in your life.
The Joy of our Salvation – There is a joy we receive in our salvation, and Psalms 51:12 says “restore the joy of my salvation.” We can pray for a restoration of this joy.

A Prayer for Joy and Peace
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. – Romans 15:13
Heavenly Father, I come before You today asking that You would fill my mind with Your peace and my heart with Your joy. Give me the supernatural ability to lay down all the burdens and worries I have for my life, family, and future. So, that I may overflow with Your hope. In the mighty name of Jesus, amen.
A Prayer to be Filled with Joy
You make known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand. – Psalm 16:11
Loving Lord, You know me very well and You know every kind of anxiety that is within me. You are the source of all good things and I come to You seeking Your abundant joy even when I am facing stormy seas and trials that threaten to overwhelm me.
Lord, I know that whether life seems easy or hard; You are my best friend and You are the first one I should run to when I am celebrating or in trouble.

God, You are my joy giver. I confess my need for Your Spirit to fill my life afresh with joy. I know You are good, but it feels like I cannot see a glimpse of that goodness recently. Forgive me for not trusting You but for believing the lies of the devil even when I knew Your Words are true. Give me clarity to see all that You have for me.
Faithful Lord, please help me experience this joy that I have read about in Your Word, which is described as being beyond human understanding.
At the start of every day, help me see You in everything. Enable me to be grateful for every situation, Father. Thank You, Lord, that Your presence is always with me and Your joy never depends on my circumstances. Fill my mouth with laughter and my lips with shouting Lord. Thank You for this fruit of the spirit called joy. In the name of Jesus, I pray, amen.

Heavenly Father, I pray You will bless me with joy and happiness and lead me away from all forms of hate, bitterness, and anxiety. Father God, nothing is impossible for You, nothing is hard for You. Today, I pray for laughter. It is said that laughter is like a medicine, and currently I feel like I need a double dose. I know that the message from Proverbs says a cheerful heart is good medicine, but a downcast spirit dries up the bones. Help us find the peace necessary for our joy to bubble up. So that we can laugh, giggle, and smile all because of You. In Jesus’ name, amen and amen.

Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the LORD is the great God, the great King above all gods. – Psalms 95:1-3
Heavenly Father, today we come before You just to say thank You. We thank You, Jesus, for the sacrifice that You made for us on the cross for our salvation. We pray we will be blessed with this same strength to have an attitude of joy and thanksgiving in everything. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for health, grace, peace, joy and Your conditional love towards us.
We pray for Your joy and a thankful heart to overflow from within us. Lord, magnify Yourself in our lives and bring to silence those who condemn us. Father Lord, thank You for peace and joy in my soul. Please, Lord, help me live contented and allow me to be able to leave all the feelings of loneliness, sadness, and depression behind. You are the light in the darkness and You alone can bring me from despair and capture my spirit with joy such that it will not escape.
